The OPC system is known as overspeed protection system. The steam turbine overspeed protection system is one of the important devices to protect the steam turbine from overspeed damage. It mainly protects the steam turbine by controlling the speed of the steam turbine and adjusting the load of the steam turbine. For steam turbine units, overspeed is one of the most dangerous situations, if not controlled, will cause a major damage to the unit.

Working principle of Steam Turbine OPC system:

The speed of the steam turbine is detected by speed sensors and speed controllers. When the overspeed protection system detects that the speed of the steam turbine exceeds the safe speed, it will send out a signal immediately, and the controller will activate the fuel cut-off valve and the speed limit valve to cut off the fuel supply of the steam turbine and control the load of the steam turbine to make the steam turbine stop safely.

Application of OPC Valve:

OPC valves are widely used in various types of steam turbines, compressor sets, pumping stations, etc. It can effectively protect the steam turbine from overspeed damage and avoid equipment failure and safety accidents caused by the overspeed of the steam turbine.
