The function of locking electromagnet is to prevent personnel from accidentally touching the closing circuit and causing accidents. The locking circuit can also form an electrical interlocking lock with disconnector and load switch. Some circuit breakers do not need this function and do not use locking electromagnets.

The locking electromagnet is matched with the external circuit to prevent false closing of the circuit breaker (of course, it can also be used in isolation and load switch). The normally open auxiliary point of locking is connected in series in the closing circuit of the circuit breaker. The closing circuit will be connected only when the locking is powered on.
