The axial displacement of a steam turbine refers to the axial movement of the thrust bearing disc of the steam turbine rotor between the thrust pads. The change in axial displacement is also a change in the relative position between the stator and rotor in the axial direction.
The reasons for the increase in axial displacement of the steam turbine are as follows:
- Load changes, sudden load shedding;
- Severe scaling of blades;
- Steam temperature changes;
- Changes in steam flow rate;
- The high pressure shaft seal has significant steam leakage, which affects the temperature increase of the bearing seat;
- Frequency variation;
- Blade breakage during operation;
- Worn or damaged thrust bearing pads;
- Extraction stopped, axial thrust changed;
- Generator rotor movement;
- Change in high-pressure steam seal drainage pressure regulation;
- Vacuum changes;
Electrical axial displacement meter, affected by changes in frequency and voltage; Hydraulic shaft displacement gauge is affected by changes in outlet oil pressure and temperature of the main oil pump.
